Each piece of Shirley’s miniature pottery is coil built, stone polished and traditionally fired.  This is an unusual shape with  a fluted spout on one side and a stopper on the other.  It would seem to be a canteen in its form. Around the body of the piece it is fully carved with an avanyu.  The depth of the carving is amazing.  Shirley was so wonderfully talented and her miniatures were among the more refined for their size and depth of carving.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
